Antlia is a southern constellation representing an air pump. It is the 62nd largest constellation in the night sky and is best visible from March to April. Its brightest star is α Antliae with a magnitude of 4.2.
It can be found by drawing a line from α Carinae through χ Carinae to α Antliae. It is fully visible from latitudes 44°N to 90°S. θ Antliae, which is also Antlia’s second brightest star, is actually a double star consisting of a white and a yellow star of magnitudes 5.7 and 5.6.
